The Employer Skills and Services team at Liverpool Community College is about giving the employer the chance to improve operational efficiencies such as, productivity, motivation and staff retention, through quality training.

Through listening to our Customers, we continue to expand our wide ranging offer by providing cost-effective and relevant training solutions.

How is our Provision offered?

In a variety of ways to meet employer and Individual need:

  • Distance Learning
  • Blended Learning (distance with some face to face)
  • Through our virtual learning environment (e-learning)

The college can also provide one to one or group sessions such as:

  • CV writing
  • Interview coaching
  • Skills analysis
  • Career planning
  • Taster sessions across a number of vocational areas

Our experienced team spend time on the site of the Employer in order to understand their full training and development requirements, tailor the courses and specifically design the case studies and exercises around the business, thus always ensuring training meets business priorities. Through our close working links with other public agencies and private organisations we are able to offer the following:

  • Leadership and Management training and access to matched funding
  • Train to Gain; access to funded programmes eg NVQs at levels 2 through to 4
  • Train to Gain; access to contribution to wage costs for employers employing 50 full time staff or less
  • Unitised accredited training programmes
  • Apprenticeship Programmes
  • Skills for Life; literacy, numeracy and IT.
  • ESOL and pre ESOL support
  • Routeways into Employment; this is a vacancy led programme aimed at priority groups
  • Work Focused Training for the 6 month plus unemployed - Sectoral focus training leading to a full level 2 Programme.
  • Response to Redundancy Programme; providing a support package to employers who are downsizing and delivering training to those employees who are under notice, recently redundant or unemployed.
  • Skills Pledge; our USP – we are able to sign employers to the Skills Pledge directly working with employers to produce a Training Plan as a result of a Organisational Diagnostic.
  • Innovation Voucher Scheme (NWDA); designed to help Northwest businesses owners, entrepreneurs and social enterprises to purchase a knowledge provider's expertise to develop innovation and enhance business.
  • The scheme provides a voucher up to £7,000 to growing businesses and social enterprises and was set up to encourage and make it easier for more people to engage with the knowledge base; in particular universities and further education colleges.
  • Funding and qualifications; help through the maze

We have a dedicated 0845 number where the Employer is put in touch with one main point of contact for all of their needs. The team is made up of Business Account Managers and Sector Specialist Advisors and a Recruitment Solutions Advisor who are on hand to assist with their knowledge and know how.
