Response to Redundancy
The aim of this provision is to ensure that capacity within Provider and Support organisations is in place to respond to redundancies and the employment implications of the present economic climate.
Target Group:
- Individuals under notice of redundancy and their employer organisations
- Individuals newly redundant
- Individuals who have been notified that their company may be downsizing
- Individuals who are unemployed but would be ready for employment after receiving this package of skills development support
- Age 18+
- Live in the Merseyside area
Benefits to the Individual:
Redundancy Support will:
- help you identify those skills you have and those you need to give you the best possible chance of remaining employed
- deliver skills training to meet the skills gaps you feel are holding you back from getting a job
- help you to increase or refresh your job finding skills, including personal effectiveness, your interview techniques and / or your CV writing skills.
- provide you with support and ways to boost your confidence
To access the training it is necessary for each beneficiary to have an Information, and Advice session with one of our skills advisers, to:
- Assess the current skills of the individual.
- Discuss the desired direction of the individual’s career.
- Discuss training options to improve existing skills or change career direction.
We can provide training and support workshops, which cover CV preparation, job search and interview techniques. We are also able to provide sector relevant training and links to job vacancies in the area. If you are considering starting your own business please see our page on Business Start Up.
Support and training can take place either on company premises or at one of our college sites across the city.
